Joe Wheeler State Park ~55 miles West of Huntsville

You can get to Joe Wheeler State Park by land – or water! This sprawling 2,550-acre park and resort features a stunning waterfront lodge, restaurant, golf course, and full-service marina. For the purists, the park also offers primitive and modern camping, lakeside cottages, cabins, and a lodge fit for larger groups.

Bucks Pocket State Park ~60 miles Southeast of Huntsville

Buck’s Pocket State Park offers a family-friendly destination for campers, off-road enthusiasts, and vacationers. The campground features 23 campsites, with 13 of them including sewer hook-up, concrete camper pad, picnic table, fire pit, and grill. There are also 11 primitive camping sites located inside the grounds. Other features include high-speed wifi within the main campground and a rental pavilion.

Lake Guntersville State Park ~45 miles South of Huntsville

Over 6,000 acres of natural woodlands make up Lake Guntersville State Park. Whether you are looking for an outdoor adventure or a luxurious retreat, Lake Guntersville offers it all.
