Whether you’re new to Huntsville or a seasoned local, you may have noticed a bit of development happening pretty much everywhere! We have an updated list of businesses that have named North Alabama as their home this month. Check it out!

Palmetto Moon

It’s a Southern lifestyle gift retailer in Jones Valley. Palmetto Moon can be found at Valley Bend 2750 Carl T. Jones Drive SE Suite #245. The goal of the store is to have unique gifts that anyone of all ages will delight in. This is the Charleston-based company’s 30th storefront. When you go for a shopping trip here, you’ll find brands like “YETI, Southern Marsh, Chubbies, Hey Dude, Brumate and Local Boy.” The retailer is also coming up with an exclusive line dedicated to Huntsvillians!

Buff City Soap

If you’re looking for fresh, handmade soaps, Buff City Soap is the new place for you! Their soaps are plant-based, free of harsh chemicals, handmade daily, cruelty-free, and free of animal fats. They’re located in the Whitesburg Plaza shopping center at 5000 Whitesburg Drive Suite #160. You’ll find not only soaps but shower oils, lotion bars, laundry soaps, and more inside the shop.

Flow Supreme Air Sports

A new sports recreation center is on its way to Huntsville. Flow Supreme Air Sports is set to open in Winter 2021. The facility will be just down the road from Brahan Spring Park at 2021 Drake Avenue Southwest. The description of the center sounds like the trampoline park, Altitude, and (for those who remember) Shakalaka, but more extreme! You’ll find “glow in the dark putt-putt, an Airtrack sports court, Ninja Warrior course, trampoline dodgeball, a zip line, free-fall jump tower, a flying trapeze, arcade games, cafe and more.” The entertainment will even include the occasional “Glow Night” party.

New Parking Garages in Downtown Huntsville

Parking in downtown areas can be a big pain when you just don’t know where to go. Huntsville City is addressing this issue and stacking up a few more parking garages to help. But they won’t just feature spacious spots for your vehicle. Some of the new garages will double as retail and restaurant space. Two of the newly opened spaces are Garage D: Holmes Avenue – 300 Holmes Ave. and Garage M: Big Spring – 100 Church St. SW. The parking garage on Holmes Ave. already includes a Dollar General Express. Other boutiques and restaurants will be added at a later date. Garage M touches both Church St. and Monroe St. and features lighted panels to enhance the outer appearance. Check out where else you can park in downtown Huntsville here.

Rafael’s Table

A brand new gourmet food and kitchen shop is now open at Lowe Mill Arts & Entertainment. Rafael’s Table is tucked into Studio 1034 down the hall from the arcade. Gourmet, small-batch pasta is their main focus but they also include cookies, bread, specialty blends, olive oil, and more goodies. The store features custom gift baskets for your loved ones or special clients, as well. Pasta flavors include low-country creole, roasted red bell pepper with paprika, orange ginger, butternut squash with sage, and okra jalapeño. Yum!
