While Huntsville is full of wonderful established shops, restaurants, and entertainment venues, it is always exciting to have something new to experience! Along with a consistent stream of families and young professionals moving to the Rocket City comes new business opportunities. Let’s take a look at some of the exciting new things that are calling Huntsville their home!
Whataburger
Whataburger, an iconic Texas hamburger joint, continues to spread through the Huntsville area. After opening the doors to their first Decatur location on May 10, Whataburger broke ground on their next location in South Huntsville which is scheduled to open sometime during Fall 2021.
In addition to these locations, Whataburger has plans to break ground on a third location in Madison later this summer. Although Whataburger is known for its delicious burgers, fries, and shakes, their Honey Butter Chicken Biscuit has a cult following!
The Market at Hays Farm
The Market at Hays Farms is bringing an onslaught of shops and restaurants to South Huntsville. Slated to open Fall 2021, The Market at Hays Farms will be home to Publix, Tom Brown’s Restaurant, Premier Urgent Care, Wingstop, and more!
Located on Memorial Parkway Southeast and Haysland Road Southwest, The Market at Hays Farm is expected to be a bustling marketplace following the announcement of the U.S. Space Command Headquarters which will be located close by.
Sea Salt, An Urban Oyster Bar
Sea Salt, An Urban Oyster Bar, slated to open Mid-June (Note: they’re now opening September 8th, 2021), will offer you a bit of the beach right here in Huntsville. Sea Salt will feature an eclectic array of oysters, seasonal specialties, and Asian cuisine! Looking for something to drink? Sea Salt, located in the former Corner Pour, will continue to offer self-serve taps with over two dozen beers!
106 Jefferson
Whether you are visiting Huntsville on vacation or enjoying a staycation, 106 Jefferson is the newest addition to the hotel scene! Located in downtown Huntsville, 106 Jefferson offers a boutique hotel experience in what was once the Huntsville Hotel, a Huntsville hotspot in the early 1900s.
Enjoy a drink at Baker & Able, a rooftop lounge, or a delicious meal at Revivalist, an eatery featuring European flavors! Located within walking distance to many of the best establishments in downtown Huntsville, 106 Jefferson is sure to provide the escape from reality that you crave!
Huntsville Amphitheater
Although it is not quite ready to provide Huntsville with entertainment, residents of Rocket City are anxiously awaiting the opening of the Huntsville Amphitheater! Scheduled to open in April 2022, the Huntsville Amphitheater will serve as a major music venue with plenty of space for headlining performers.
In addition to concerts, the Huntsville Amphitheater will serve as a space for cultural events, education, farmer’s markets, large-scale gatherings, and more. With space for 8,000 attendees and a food village that is open to the public, the Huntsville Amphitheater is sure to bring even more excitement to MidCity!
Trader Joe’s
A grocery store with a massive following, Trader Joe’s is slated to open their second Alabama location in Huntsville later this fall! Trader Joe’s will join many other businesses in the MidCity District. Long-time residents of Huntsville are excited for this dream to come to fruition, something that has been in the works for over 10 years.
